"Hello, Bird."
WIP
16 x 20 Canvas Panel
I made it! I've been loitering around Paint Party Friday for a few weeks now promising myself that I'll join the fun, but today I actually did something about it! I've been in somewhat of a collage kick since the Summer and I have to say that it felt good to get out the 'ole paints again and have a go . . .
"Hello, Bird" is very much a work in progress: as a matter of fact, all I have now is this floating head on a large 16 x 20 canvas panel:
It's being done for my childhood friend who dislikes (I'm being nice) birds so much, it has become her nickname. I'm not sure where I will go from here (although you can bet there'll be a bird in there somewhere ;) but I appreciate the chance to show you what I've done so far. Fingers crossed, I'll have it finished by next week at this time. . .
Thanks to Eva & Kristin for their wonderful idea and generous spirit in putting this party together: I have to say, I love it already!
Kristin xo

I had a friend who had a pigeon phobia. Didn't know until we walked through a park in New York, someone spooked a flock of pigeons and she freaked right out.
Oh my stars.. This is amazing.. I just love those eyes.. Maybe one day I will be able to paint gorgeous eyes like that.. Happy Friday!!!
Hugs, Linda

Lol! How can someone dislike birds? :) Did she watch Hitchcock's movie one too many times? :) Love your floating head. I'm sure she'll look fantastic with a bird on her shoulders. :)

Wow, beautiful piece, I love her hair. What a fun name and story about your friend. She will love this! That name "bird" would be so much better than being called spider. Lol I dislike those so much! Happy PPF!

She is simply gorgeous Kristin!! Your use of color here makes her such a joy to look at :) xoxo
I love the blue of her hair! Amusing that her dislike became her nickname!
Perhaps the next part of the painting is a huge swarm of birds in the distance and just one sly decoy winking or something...haha....poor girl :)
Whatever you decide....she is soooo cute!
It's looking great so far! I'm curious to see what you'll do for the background. Maybe next Friday!
