Life Book (1)

"My Super Powers"
9 x 12 Watercolor page (with extension)

I (finally) had the opportunity to finish my first lesson with Life Book! I'm thrilled to be a part of the year-long class and so look forward to the education, insights and camaraderie there.

Our first lesson focused on creating a journal page that will eventually be bound in a book at the end of the year. We were asked to list what we believe are our "Super Powers," or the qualities that make us unique and which bring joy to ourselves and others.

I really enjoyed making this page and learning how to create a more realistic, 3/4 portrait. It's the first that I've done like it, and I want to thank our teach Tam for sharing her beautiful talents with us.

Here's what I came up with:

Front flap, closed
Vintage text reads, "My Heart"
Full spread
Swarovski crystals on crown & Stickles glitter on lettering

Eeeee . . . . SO looking forward to more . . . .

Thank you for visiting,
Kristin xo

  1. What a pretty page! I'm not doing Lifebook... I deliberated on it... but I decided I needed to focus my energies elsewhere. What I didn't count on though was spotting all this wonderful artwork coming out of it and starting to feel very jealous....

No... I must resist... I need to finish all those other courses I paid for last year first...

  3. Kristin, I LOVE it!! I love how you dangled the letters instead of the hearts. The whole spread looks wonderful. I am hoping to find some time today to work on my 3/4 portrait too. You have inspired me...as usual!!! :)

  4. I also loved how you dangled the letters. I just left that out completely. And I love the pattern paper lady, looks like a sewing pattern lady, in the background. But you didn't let me see your cuteness with big classes! Those glasses look just like a pair I bought years ago (my one and only expensive Versace buy...haha...so not me, but so fun too!) You did a nice job with the skin, really soft and totally your skin style. So hard doing these faces that are not ours, but so good for us too! You did really follow hers, but I like the added blue hair and the pattern to the crown and your bling...nice job lovely lady!!!
