Paint Party Friday (Week 3)

"A Mother is Born"
8 x 10 WIP

Has this ever happened to you? You think your piece is complete, you get all ready to take brilliant shots of your new work . . . . and once you're behind the camera, you realize that your painting isn't done . . .

Yeah, that's me today; thinking I was all finished with this when clearly, the photographs proved that I was not.  So, I hope you don't mind my sharing a tiny little WIP with you instead. At least I can now see what needs to be done.

Speaking of which, has anyone seen my automatic pencil? I last saw it under a pile of Caran d'ache crayons and paper tape . . . .

Happily linking to The Paint Party:

And wishing you a beautiful weekend,
Kristin xo

  3. Do I see the word booty there? Heehee!
It'll be nice to see this when you deem it done!

Is the pencil stuck inside a book? I use mine to hold pages....and forget they are there when I push everything aside :)

  4. Yes, that has happened to me a few times! So now sometimes when I'm stuck on a piece I take a photo so I can step back from it more and see what it needs. Can't wait to see this done. Of course it's going to be great :-)

  10. ....looking good....and your pencil--Ha--you don't want to ask me! I have multiples of EVERYTHING, because it always would take me so long to find anything I would lose that I started to buy doubles--it really helps save time, and the original always pops up eventually.

  23. Such a lovely looking WIP! And yes, that happens to me sometimes too. Or worse, I blog it, then realise it wasn't finished at all. Seeing it up there on the screen suddenly shows up all the stuff that needs doing. BTW, love that you are writing about your booty ;-)

  27. Hi again! Just wanted to thank you for the compliments on my journal page! It's my favorite one that I've done so far... and it only took like 3 years to finish, lol!!! Seriously thank you.

And those journal pages you did really are incredible. I love how raw and authentic they are. Well done you!! They made me all weepy eyed!

  28. Happens nearly every time. I use it as a test to see whether or not something is really finished.

I do like this so far, can't wait to see the finished piece. You have such a way with color.

  31. Happens to me all the time, sometimes I take photos along the way just because for some reason it is easier to see from photograph, what needs to be done.
