MMM: Party Animals

    "Having a Ball"
    Altered Mason Jar
    Interior Detail
This week's Mixed Media Monday challenge is to create a piece of art based upon the theme, "Party Animals." I wanted to do something as whimsical as the prompt, so when I saw a big bag of gumballs in our pantry, "Having a ball" was born. After getting permission from the gumball owner (that would be my 4 year old), I set about altering a mason jar that I set aside for just an occasion . . .
The Party Animal is a freebie from Stampington's Postscript and the only thing I really added to him was a bit of glitter and a hat. The hat was covered in glazing medium, decorated with the word "sweet" and, of course, a single Swarovski crystal. The lid of the jar was painted with several layers of acrylic and dotted with glue and glitter.
I can't wait to see what everyone does this week! To check it out for yourself, please log on to http://www.mixedmediamonday.wordpress.com/.   Kristin xo
