The Artistic Mother's Group

Background Papers in Progress
Project 1

Today marks the beginning of The Artistic Mothers Group: an online group of women who will be going through the dozen projects outlined in Shona Cole's new book, The Artistic Mother. We will have two weeks to complete each of the 12 tasks and will be posting our progress on a weekly basis.

This week's challenge was to create background papers for our future projects. Those you see below are made from both computer paper and recycled materials and were treated with Gesso before being washed with acrylic and then enhanced with stamps and water-soluble oil pastels.

I am looking forward to my participation and encourage you to do the same. There is plenty of time if you would like to join in: simply add your name to the list by visiting our group leader's blog, Trudy of Artistic Creations. To see a tutorial of this project and find out where you can get a copy of the book, please visit Shona' s blog or click on the picture of her book on this sidebar.

Kristin, these are FAB. I knew it would be awesome to see what others came up with and I was right. You are the first I have seen. These papers are perfect. Now you will have tons of stuff at the ready when you want to make something... if you can bear to cut or tear them up!!!!

I love your background papers. They are gorgeous.

I wanted to let you know that I have a button on my blog now for The Artistic Mother Art Group that you can put on your sidebar instead of having to put all of the links to all of the participants' blogs. I will keep an updated list of everyone on my sidebar.

I'm so sorry that you've already gone to so much trouble to add all of the links.

Also, could you do me a favor and send me your email address so that I can send group emails if necessary? You can send it to sewingwithtrudy at yahoo dot com

Check my blog soon for news of a Flickr group for The Artistic Mother Art Group and other exciting news.

Superb project Kristin, your papers have come out so well! I love having 'readys' in the cupboard just waiting for their chance to shine. Margaret

This is just great!!! I found your blog through Amy's, (paper&gluestick) and love what you make.
And like Amy, this would be great for ATC backgrounds!
