Mind. Body. Soul. (Art Journaling)

I'm happy to say that I've completed the work for week one in my beautiful friend Leslie's new E-course, Mind.Body.Soul. Our task was to create two journal pages focusing on positivity and the word Believe. Here is what I came up with:

"You Are Enough"

Elements attached with string and staples

Revealed message

"Sit with it for a While"

Torn papers and rub-ons

Stamping and a page full of decorative tape

And just as a side: I broke out a new journal for this class, the Strathmore Visual Journal, and I'm more than impressed with it. It's a Cold Press watercolor journal with a good weight (140 lb) and no matter how many layers (painting, rub-ons, stamping, gluing, image transferring, um, glittering . . . ) I put it through, it stayed with me (no balling up or wrinkling). And I loved the 5 x 8 size as it was very easy to complete in one sitting. At around $5 (I got mine at Michaels, but they are everywhere), I would recommend it in a heartbeat!

Thanks for looking! I'm now off to see what's in store for Week Two . . . please feel free to join us, it's inspiring, fun & free!

Kristin xo

but it kinda makes me sad too. Because you are enough, just as you are, and just how your body is and what your body can do. You Are Enough! more than enough really because you're wickedly awesome soy sauce Kristin!!! with shiny eyes!

Love them both! The first one reminds me of the fair and cotton candy, and the second reminds me of pink strawberry lemonade! I think I'm ready for summer!lol!
Yes I like MeeMaw as well and the lettering, well it is an old quilting stencil I have! ;)

I've always loved every Strathmore paper I've gotten, it's good stuff, isn't it? The way you used the staples in that top layout is really cool, and the second layout is awesome, too, I really wanted to zoom in and see more detail!! Loved looking at these!

PS. Our retreat is in Santa Ana, so excited because the last time I went to California I was in 11th grade! :)

What? I didn't know Leslie had a new class! Sounds wonderful! Your pages are amazing, of course! Love them!! Great colors and layers, etc... I'm a big fan of you and your art! You know that!
And I have that journal, same size and everything and I LOVE it!! And I can toss it in my purse if I want to. For my larger journal I have to glue the pages together first to make them thick enough to withstand my abuse, but not with this baby!! yay!!

Well, of course I had to go join to!! I just can't seem to get enough. :) I am breaking out a new Visual Journal for this. I worked on one page - just a background - and I am already impressed! The paper is so much more durable and can handle my mixed media abuse. :) Gorgeous pages!!!! xxoo
