Scrapbooking? Mixed Media? I dunno. What I do know is that I miss printing (and actually using) pictures of Kendra since I stopped scrapping, and I've been looking for a way to incorporate more of her (even if it's just her body in this case ;) into my work.
My friend's recently published piece in Somerset Memories in which she used a photo as as the main element in her art, inspired me to try the same. . . here is what I came up with . . .
So: what do we call this?
We call it mighty cute :)
oh you! ...what we call this is AMAZING! and of course it is mixed media, because you are mixing it all, photo and all. I adore this. ADORE! I am not lying...and now, I can't wait for our trade!!!
...love that texture with a doll comb. I am in love with making texture in gesso. ...wow, I really cannot say enough. LOVE.
You know, I have been thinking lots lately about how I need to get back to using my pictures. They are such a part of us, and they are my reality. I used to spend the most of my time altering with my pics, but now, rarely. It has been on my mind a lot. Since I finished that long board, I have decided to focus on more scrapping, my way. I don't want to give up on albums, because they are what my family cherishes most. ...just my thoughts.
Kristen, how neato...this is why I stop by to be inspired by YOU. Come get you some puddin n pie...
I'd call it very creative and cute!
I'd start with beautiful!
Wonderful colours, textures and details .... I love it.
I'd go with Mixed Media :)
I'd call it simply beautiful! Hugs, Valerie
I would call it beautiful too! You know I dig through old pic of family to make art. Why can't I turn pics of my kids into sepia tones and use those? Great idea and good inspiration to try harder. I feel a challenge coming on !
Oh dear Kristin, I crown you queen of *mixed media.* Here I sit staring at this piece trying to figure out how the heck you created this wonderfuly whimsical beautiful work of art!?
You amaze me, & I simply love your use of; what I'm now going to coin *Kristin's Blue!*
I call it cute and mixed media of course. I am always amazed at the work that you do. I love how you created the texture and incorporated the poem and picture. I would love to see more of your work with pictures.
OOOOoooo....I'm going to have to go scrounge around for a doll comb....we gotta have like 18 of those things around here!
I really like this, Kristin!
This is charming and the colors are so pretty! I used this technique for our Christmas cards a while back, it's one of my favorites ever, so so fun to do!!
I love it, it's a very eye-catching piece!
It's an adorable mixed media piece! LOVE the texture with the dolly comb and the colors! Very clever of you to alter Kendra's photos for your art.
